The course won today. I prefer the back 9 to the front. The front has some interesting holes that require you to make some club decisions. I gave up after 13th hole. Completely overgrown. Tee was on a 3' wide piece of beaten up artificial turf. No on-course food or beverage service on hot July day. Zero accommodation for golfer who woke up sick on day of round. I would no longer recommend La Bete until 2nd hole fixed or price reduced to reflect degraded condition. Too many higher quality, comparably or lower priced alternatives.

This course had significant damage due to a recent storm The staff were excellent, very helpful and service oriented. There was a lot of winter kill on the fairways and greens. There was also a lot of construction work going on around the course and hole 2 was reduced to a par 3 for construction purposes. The staff was new just being trained to run the cash registers!

The sandwiches were poor quality Price for the round was excessive for the conditions and should have been about half what we were charged. Was impressed with the friendliness of staff and the starter was a great happy guy. Course is challenging, but we were fine with a 14 and 10 year old. Based on reviews, other golfers are saying that the course conditions at Gray Rocks Resort - La Bete are great.
