Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay, No. The pair won the event in and tied for fourth last year. The highest-ranked player in the field, however, is Rory McIlroy. Will Rory hoist the trophy, or will we see some parody without Scottie in the field. At the time of this writing — May 7th — you can find these odds at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Prior to digging in on my Theegala wager, I want to mention my approach this week. With that in mind, we open our card this week with Sahith Theegala. I will not be discouraged. Sahith continues to knock on the door and brings a phenomenal skill set with him to Quail Hollow. Nails with the putter, Sahith does more than enough with his driver to threaten the top of the leaderboard over the course of any golf tournament.

We need Sahith to find fairways to help with his ranking with regard to P4: yards. If he can keep everything under control on those very challenging holes, Sahith should score enough on the Par 5s to contend come Sunday. Speaking of good form, we add Akshay Bhatia as our second outright bet for the Wells Fargo Championship. Pga tour favorites this week While Sahith struggles a bit in our key Par 4 range, Akshay ranks 5th in the field over his last 24 rounds.

While he only owns a single top in five made cuts at Quail Hollow, he finished 23rd last season while gaining 7. Bhatia has gone MCrd in two starts at Quail Hollow, but his performance last year left some encouraging signs. For the week, Bhatia produced outstanding ball-striking metrics with his putter letting him down.

This season, there are no immediate signs of issues with the flat stick. Bhatia has gained strokes in four straight measured events and seven of 10 since the calendar turned to A newfound putting prowess should allow Bhatia to excel at Quail Hollow as he has at longer setups earlier this season.

This season, Bhatia owns six top finishes in full-field events. In three starts at the North Carolina track, he made one cut before subsequently finishing 54th. Straka has also struggled with his ball striking on longer tracks.
