I am almost ashamed to say that I hadn't heard of Amarillo Slim so had no idea what this book would be about. I liked the subject matter and the pace of the read, so much happens very quickly it's impossible to be bored. Ultimately though this book works because we all want to be Amarillo Slim.

Fun book about an interesting character who has had a fun packed life making money throughout the world. This book is that good I've read it twice already. It is a fantastic peep into the life of a professional gambler. The stories about proposition bets will have you in stitches. It is very easy to read and very difficult to put down. Written in a very simple fashion, and hard to tell the order of some events.
