If the calculator can't predict accurately based on a reasonably accurate seat duration spec which CAN be measured to account for any lash settings , then it's just GIGO. I agree, you would have to take the lash into account. Either way I had also originally tried it with my.
I guess I won't find out until the snow melts and I can take it out for a beating. If you're using moly-faced rings and have run the engine 10 minutes already which, IMO, isn't enough to fully complete the cam break-in cycle , those rings are already "seated" enough to have given you a usable cranking pressure.

Hey Brad, Moly faced rings, 30 minutes on the cam break in between and rpm , and about 10 minutes of additional run time.

I am running 93 octane I've been saying this all along. I don't know how folks swear by "dynamic" numbers when I know of at least 3 different formula that generate very different results, and of course, they won't even be consistent between solids and hydraulics for any of them unless you make some type of a numbers adjustment for the lash as you did.
Logic suggests that seat timing is what should matter and be used in the calcs, its just the results are off considerably from reality. I'm on the fence regarding whether cranking compression or DCR numbers mean anything anyway, at least in the projects I've been dealing with.
