So I started searching for a different ball that felt and played like those wound Titleist's. I played lots of different balls, expensive and less so. Although they didn't have quite the feel, they were pretty close. They also were every bit as long and straight and I got about the same spin as the Titleist's.

On the other hand, I regularly blade these, hit the many granite rocks, fire them at oak trees so hard they ricochet off further than I would ever think possible. Hosel hits galore, and those must be stressful they are on me I think you could say they are durable, although others think they aren't.

Could be variations in batches of them. Now that my swing and contact is decent, I'll go to the range and hit in public this week. Then I'll actually play on an actual course where my goal is to win free drinks. Frito April 4, April 4, I played a golf course in Nevada the other day and it was fun , but when I came to hole 4 a par 5 I made a birdie. I've never made a birdie before and I couldn't believe it I thought it was too easy and then i realize on the score card it was only yards. Would you consider this a solid birdie or is this par 5 too short?

Don't overthink it, just get another one. My first birdie was a pitch-in from 50 yards out on a par 3, and I didn't question whether it was a "real" birdie or not As long as the scorecard wasn't a typo, it's a birdie.

Congrats on your first birdie, and yes like eveyone else said, it is a birdie. Do not worry about if it is to short to be a par 5. I am still looking for my first, i have had about 3 or 4 tries, but missed my first putt and had to settle for a par. Drove it about with the wind helping me, then hit a nice pw about 3ft from the hole, jarred the putt and commenced the celebration until the next hole which as usual, I triple bogeyed haha.
